What do you do at The Techno Creatives?
I’m a lead dev generalist heavy on high-level backend projects and dev-ops. But I can’t be made to do one thing. I NEED to poke at everything.
What were you doing before you came to work at The Techno Creatives?
I graduated from Chalmers 2005 and spent the first half of my working career at startups burning other people’s money (and my own, eventually) - Appello, the makers of mobile navigation back before iPhones were a thing, and Burt, the business of gulping billions of ads to make the ad market better for everyone. Last 5 years I spent at Fast2, a company building business software for huge real-estate owners - the likes of Poseidon and Bostadsbolaget and whatever they’re called over in Stockholm.
What do you find to be the biggest difference in your daily experience now and before you worked at The Techno Creatives?
Looking at the culture of The Techno Creatives the most striking difference is the diversity of the people. And the tasks. Most other companies are quite comfortable giving you a figurative dumb-bell and watching your java spring-boot biceps grow. At THETC I get the feeling I’m gonna get a full body workout.
What do you find to be an important factor in your work culture?
I like feeling trusted. The idea of “Here’s bunch of cool tools, games and food. Have fun, deliver on your projects and be awesome” appeals to me. You don’t have to become a boring drag just because you’ve grown up.
Mention three things you like besides work?
I don’t like distinguishing between work and free-time. I have a family and kids, so sometimes I have to, but I dunno. I guess. I’m into racing, so I like watching Formula 1 and going go-karting. I like carpeting and hacking my house - everything from physically tearing down walls to installing IoT stuffs. When I was at Chalmers I got dragged into Ljud och Bildgruppen so running the lightshow on concerts and attending such was a big part of my life that has sadly taken a back seat the last couple of years. Also beer. And arguing around beer. #lagerBoy
