In 2020, we started to map the sustainability impact from the solutions we co-develop, partly to ensure long-term competitiveness and understand the disruptive potential of the new solutions but also to establish a process that can be further improved over time.
With a strong focus on new product- and service development working with leading multinationals, Techno Creatives has a key role to play, acting as a sparring partner to ensure long-term competitiveness for the products we co-develop. We believe that the sustainable contribution of the products is key in ensuring this long-term competitiveness.
Analyzing the projects conducted during 2019 and 2020, the total number of sustainability projects went down from 24 to 16. However, the main reason for this was a lower total amount of projects indicated by the share of sustainability projects moving from 26% in 2019 to 27% in 2020. This was further emphasized with the revenue behind these figures, in which an uptick from 24% to 35% was noted.
The actual project during 2020 covered a set of different areas, such as a lead generation tool to facilitate a cost/benefit analysis of solar energy storage, a digital keyboard for Sami languages aiming to democratize tech, and a connected child seat with an associated mobile application to secure in-car child safety.
